As a desert based society, some of the stuff it tells you not to eat indeed is probably a good idea. Circumcision also serves a purpose in such a society.

Like I’d argue those don’t make sense NOW, but back then it was reasonable advice.

I don’t know if I’d really compare the two. I had my initial job search right around the 2008 crash and aftermath. Comparing then to now, now feels like it’s so much worse.
