To add to that: Zswap can make sense if you need lots of data in memory and you have very fast storage devices. Outside of that limited use case zram is the right answer like you said

What is the storage medium? If it is inexpensive or really old you are probably overwhelming your disk bandwidth. If it is cheap flash be really careful as it has a limited number of writes.
Freezing can be a sign of a I/o bottleneck

The Php vulnerabilities were and are being exploited in the wild

If you don’t secure your stuff it will be part of a bot net. Residential IPs and hardware are extremely valuable.

You need a VPN. It will cause inconveniences but the way currently have it setup is highly vulnerable to attack. I would look into something like Netbird or just a plain Wireguard VPN. If they are connecting primarily from home you could always setup a simple proxy device that forwards connections over a VPN from the local network.
Security should absolutely come first. If you can’t provide basic security I wouldn’t recommend hosting anything especially for other people.

Don’t put them on the internet. Seriously, don’t put stuff on the internet. These days critical CVEs are coming out weekly and it is unlikely that you even detect the compromise.
What is your use case? Maybe there is a better way
The NSA also does a lot of work with regards to computer security
SElinux/MAC are fantastic tools that can be used to lock down a system. Android largely hasn’t been impacted by many of the severe Linux vulnerabilities due to SElinux

Just make a bunch Beta-M units for household use

Cats instinctively kill birds and other small rodents. While I certainly see the appeal of outside cats the people arguing based on environmental concerns also have a point.
Additionally you should be really careful letting your cat out as it can get into something and then make you sick as a result

You can train cats just like many other domesticated animals

That’s is certainly something you could do I guess

I once ran over a rabbit

Once the VC money runs out it will be less of an issue
In the meantime we are screwed

If you like being compromised then yes

It is still massively bloated

The C++ spec is absolutely massive. Nothing says elegant like a million different ways to do something.
Python works pretty well and doesn’t have to much overhead. Sure it doesn’t have the same performance as C/C++ or Rust but most of the time you don’t need millisecond level code.

C++ is a lot of things but elegant and safe are not words that come to mind. C++ has far more issues than regular C.
Best option would be to use something with memory safety

Use C not C++
Or better yet, use python
Star wars would be a very different movie
