Knowing just a tiny bit about Norway and Finland, I would honestly be dripping with sweat before the call if I were Putin.

Probably had to defenestrate a few people just to destress…

So does anyone have a link or inside track about what is going on here?

Putin isn’t know for being a pleasant person to talk to. If he is talking to these two, is his goal just to weaken their resolve?

But last weekend, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said having a European negotiator at the peace talks table would be “good”.

Hmm, I feel like I’m missing something? Why the change of hearts? I know there has been friction due to (from Kremlin’s PoV) unfriendly international actions, but why would that change? Are the attacks inside Russia making them reconsider? Is the war economy catching up with them? Based on official statements from Kremlin it hasn’t been a problem for them thus far?

Regardless of what they think or believe, I hope there is a resolution at some point that simply leads to the end of the war. Not at any cost, of course, but the war is taking no less toll today than it was in the beginning.
