Australia’s “antisemitism envoy” Jillian Segal has released a new report claiming that the primary threat to Jews in our country comes from left-wing pro-Palestine activists, which Segal hilariously labels “issue-motivated antisemitism”.
Segal repeatedly warns that antisemites are guilty of the “conflation” of Jewish people with the state of Israel while also repeatedly going out of her way to lump Jews in with support for the Israeli state, complaining of the view that “anyone who identifies as a Zionist is themselves fundamentally wicked, notably including the overwhelming majority of Jewish Australians who, as an inextricable part of their Jewish identity, hold a belief in the right of Israel to exist.”
To help curb the actions of the “issue-motivated” antisemites, Segal recommends the implementation of exclusion zones for protesters, a ban on face coverings for demonstrators, extra review measures for people who are in this country on visas, and extra oversight of public broadcasters the ABC and SBS to ensure fair and balanced coverage of Israeli atrocities.
As you might expect, the Australian press are dutifully regurgitating Segal’s left-punching propaganda with zero pushback. The Australian ran the story on the new report with the headline “‘Pervasive progressive hate’: antisemitism envoy’s new blueprint,” while The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald went with “New wave of Australian antisemitism comes from progressive social justice critics, says antisemitism envoy.”

I urge you to look inward and try to wonder why you think that the colonialism and ethnic cleansing prior to 1949 was okay, but after 1949 suddenly it became bad. “Israel” sits on stolen palestinian land. Every inch of it.

Notice how Israel is not mentioned in these periods? That is because it didn’t exist. It is a Zionist invention. Israelis are settlers. Yes, that includes the ones born there. If thousands of Americans invaded Germany and took over Munich the children they bore there would not be German. They would not be entitled to the land their parents stole. Why should this be any different?
So yes, I oppose the existence of Israel at a fundamental level, and you should too.

There are plenty of people still alive today who were displaced during the Nakba. You don’t get to tell them, “Oh well the Israelis had kids and grandkids so we’re letting them keep your land because it would be mean to make those kids and grandkids leave.”
You are a liberal Zionist. Zionism is Naziism. If Laebensraum had succeeded you’d be sitting in this comment section telling the people of Poland, Belarus, and Ukraine who had survived that them trying to expel Germans from their land was a 2nd “atrocity”. You’d be looking for a solution where the Aryans don’t get hurt.
Israel is, and has always been, and will always be, a genocidal ethnostate. That is its foundation. As such it deserves no recourse. There are no innocents within it. The only “Israeli” who deserves mercy are the ones who rise up and fight alongside Palestinian Freedom Fighters, or those so young as to not have had a hand in the genocide. It is not a few bad apples. It is nearly every adult Israeli who is complicit in genocide. Every person who served in the IOF.
If the people born there want to stay they should submit to Palestinian soverignty and accept that their state will be dismantled and that they will lose their inherited stolen property. They will have to live in a nation run by the very people they’ve had a hand in oppressing. If they can’t handle that they are free to leave. Or to die. I really don’t care which they choose, personally.
It’s not even about Israel, it’s about the evil far-right extremists in control of it using it as a vehicle for atrocities.
