The Chinese system is divided into provincial leadership, districts, cities, ect… And they each have their own funding mechanisms and quite a lot of leeway in how they govern at their set domain of government. So they’re running their own versions of America’s “States Rights” system, in that different areas resolve similar problems in different ways.

I’ve heard when Xi believes someone coming up the ladder is a threat to him, he assigns them to a particularly difficult province. However if they’re very competent they’ll keep solving problems and coming up the ranks.

If he can’t get rid of them any other way, it stands to reason he’d purge them. The long term problem is that creates a pool of well informed, critical agitators who are competent political leaders.

100 years ago China was promised democracy (when Sun Yat Sen, Chiang Kai-shek, and Mao Zedong were all in the KMT Chinese Nationalist Party TOGETHER)… And that promise will be fulfilled one way or the other.

Earlier this year he [Xi] said that the party must uproot “sick trees”

How else would you get the hunny down?

I just want to make sure, since its 2026, and barbarians currently run three major world powers, “purge” means “dissappear,” right?
