Josh Turek is exhibit A for the flaws in “vote blue no matter who, the primary is when to decide” - the thesis of centrist vote scolds. The problem is that the snakes hide their colors in the primary. Josh didn’t reveal his transphobia in the general. He knows how easy it is to manipulate people who vote “blue no matter who.” And it’s not so simple as just waiting for the next primary. At that point, a then Senator Turek would be an incumbent, and those same centrist vote scolds switch to, “we can’t primary this guy over something as trivial as trans rights! We can’t give up a seat in a purple state over those people!”
