Mostly an audio pod. 34m.

Pod host was called up for Grand Jury duty. She was shocked at the level of dragnet surveilence of individual suspects, in and out of vehicles, stores, subways. Historical data. All with biometric ID. All without a warrant. All in high res that can FR somebody from a city block away.

The ep gets into the post-9/11 climate that led to big money pouring into surveilence tech. The secretive funding methods to avoid public accountability and watchdog oversight. The recent backlash, where something has flipped in the mood of the country, as it sours about public surveilence tech.

BTW about GJs. I never got called up so far. If you are, please do it, and do it honorably. In the US, the point is so we the people are the final check and balance against abusing the justice system. Against cases brought without probable cause. Against “the process is the punishment” and dragging plainly innocent ppl through the muck.

Absolutely indict if warranted. But don’t indict the ham sandwich. GJ’s have recently been refusing to indict high profile bogus cases. That is a critical backstop.
