- I travel fairly frequently and like using apps like Comaps, OSMAnd+

When it comes to hotels I was wondering how data about the facilities at hotels should be recorded. I’m no OSM expert so I welcome input.

I’m aware that there are the physical places for some facilities e.g. a customer laundry might be an enclosing object like the hotel building - but that can make understanding about the services offered by the hotel hard to understand if you need to explore the space. Then there are services that don’t really have a place (e.g room service ) - would that be detailed in OSM itself, or in a related wikidata link?

I’m also aware that there are lots of related data services that have data about hotels (often proprietary such as services that use the open travel alliance formats - opentravel.org/hospitality/ ) - that probably comes from the hotels themselves (and that they might actually want to contribute directly to OSM/Wikidata - How would we make the provision of this data easy for contributors such as hotels and other travel service providers?
