Gzip (any properly configured static server will serve compressed assets) probably compresses them down so probably a single extra byte per file

Work Reform@lemmy.world•Martha Stewart's actual Halloween costume
75·13 hours agoHoly shit, how much of a ghoul do you have to be to think this is a good idea
IIRC modern linter rulesets generally just outright error if you do anything remotely like this.

politics @lemmy.world•The US founders made a grave error in granting presidents pardon power
14·1 day agoAmericans: is there anything stopping the next president from abolishing the pardon and retroactively nullifying any existing pardons?

Programming@programming.dev•Developer builds a complete Intel 486 PC emulator in a browser — 100% pure-JavaScript Retro486 includes modular tabs for screen, motherboard, storage, expansion cards, and more

Has something changed or is this just a blind spot of mine?

I kinda expect better journalism from Tom’s hardware
I also feel like if this project has any merit whatsoever, the developer should be contributing their efforts to one of the many established x86 emulation projects

Oh 100%, don’t buy any usb-c brick, but it’s pretty well understood which brands you can trust to do what they say at this point.
Other brands are available, but I’d say the last 5-10 chargers I’ve bought have been variants of the Ugreen GaN chargers and they do all the standard standards as well as the not so standard standards
If you tell Claude to commit for you it adds it then
Which highlights another situation of people telling it to let them handle the committing
This. Get an appropriate usb-c adapter of the correct voltage to whatever-the-fuck barrel jack you need for your device
I will trust my ability to reliably select a decent USB-c charger plug much further than I do any third party power supply for any barrel jack.
All it takes to remove Claude attribution is something like this
git filter-branch -f --msg-filter 'sed "/Claude/d"'That’s before realising things like DeepSeek don’t add the trailer
Be pleased that people are generally not trying to hide it, but also don’t trust its absence, look at the commit patterns
No time for arguments, pipelines go brrrr

2·8 days agoCentre alignment is pretty poor typographically for any paragraphed text, your eyes need a consistent place to snap back to at the start of the line unless the point is to fatigue the reader
Left align or justified are pretty much the only valid options for body text and I’ll die a thousand times on that hill
It really is quite interesting how brazen the “rules for you and not for thee” has gotten
Grand theft copyright and literal cybercrime?
Oopsie doopsie!

Yeah, regular data centres have existed for a while and don’t come with a fraction of the drawbacks that come with AI data centres
Amazon and Google’s cloud businesses are probably loving this because it soft locks out any new future competitor to that business
