4·5 hours agoThe Green Party may be a serious enterprise in other countries, but in the United States it mostly just serves as a punchline.
I could see if we were to put ranked choice in everywhere, then start trying to mount things like the Green Party.
But instead we have a goofy candidate show up on the presidential ballot every 4 years, some with strange foreign ties and Republicans funding them. Almost zero candidates at the local level.
And we can thank them for things like W and donnie.

11·16 hours agoEh, at one point, his schtick of pissing off lots of people did have a certain charm and he was a bit sharper in the past. Is he someone I’d want to hang with? Hell to the fuck no. I’m quite sure he’d be absolutely insufferable and I would think getting high with him would be hell on Earth.
Do I still watch his show even now? Well, yeah. Do I fast forward a lot? Oh lordy yes. Especially when his guest is an even bigger douche bag.

4·16 hours agoLOL, all that sucking up didn’t really do much for Maher, I guess.
I still watch him as almost a hate-watch, and skip over the worst instances of his guests as they usually have very uninteresting things to say. His monologue has really gone downhill and his nonsense takes on trans and Israel/Palestine is just…facepalm.
It’s like he’s someone that absorbed all the takes of the Murc’s Law Media from c. 1990s (and the early 90s, before most people started using the 'net, not even the later 90s when the fever started to show signs of breaking, just before 9/11 set things back for a bit) and then just stayed in that mindset related to Israel especially.
He seems to have really internalized the bullshit narrative that being critical of Israel is “antisemitic”. What a fucking hot steaming load that is.

1·17 hours agoA lot of the anti-vaxx dingbats think they are already a profit-center for “big pharma”.
When one learns about what went into something like mRNA it’s like a modern-day moonshot, and all these fucking backwards idiots can do is make up stupid stories to swap with other stupid people about how it’s a “plandemic” and the vaccine is a “clot shot”.
FFS.

1·23 hours agoI doubt donnie dumbass even thought about it that hard or knows any of that.
He is just a man-baby throwing more ketchup on the wall because the black man got a prize and he didn’t. He will just never get over so many things - Obama having two terms and getting a prize that he didn’t being fairly high on the list.

And that’s just one author and one book. Who knows how many stories there are out there yet to be told - or may be never told - about how much donnie and his brainless accomplices have done to fuck this country up.
And as far as I know, not even one of them has paid the price for doing it. Yet.

0·2 days agoThis is just perfect framing.
Especially the “don’t you have anything better to do”?
I was watching donnie supporters (on the Good Liars) claiming that trans is a major concern. They get asked how many trans athletes do they think there are (in NCAA), out of 500K+ athletes.
The answer is less than 10. We are supposed to pretend this is a major concern? Something we need to have all of our policies revolve around? Something that should decide the makeup of Congress? We have to endorse an entire other nexus of fascist bullshit because < 10 trans in something like NCAA??
I know a lot of conservatives seem to struggle with things like literacy and numeracy, but less than 10 divided by greater than 500000 is a vanishingly small percentage.

Okay, donnie dumbass.
