Nihilistic Violent Extremism. Very bad people doing very bad things, like blackmailing children into murdering their pets and parents. There are documentaries on Youtube about these groups (“The Com” or “764” for example), but it’s some very depressing and nasty stuff. Be prepared if you decide to look into this.
Unpopular opinion, but I view the people up top squeezing the life out of everyone else to be a big cause for why NVE groups keep popping up. They know they can’t stop the billionaires, so they instead hurt the vulnerable, causing all sorts of mayhem until they get arrested.
Society is basically done if NVE ever becomes mainstream/hits critical mass. Even MAGA wants these people eradicated, but I don’t see that happening unless people have reason to trust in society.
Playing with other people is such a hassle. You mentioned SWTOR, so let’s use that as an example. The “Operations” have some fun story content, don’t they? Suppose I want to play one of those.
If you get a bunch of randoms, you’ll get a bunch of people who don’t know what they’re doing, or could try doing their own thing. Many of the Operations bosses have mechanics that require coordination, so your party of randoms is going to get wiped.
Clearly, you need to get a team together to do it. But Operations want 8 players (including you), who all have their schedules free to do the operation with you. And you have to hope that people don’t get other plans or drop out midway through. And you have to be in a position where you can arrange such a group in the first place.
I’m fine with forced group content if it’s easy for randoms to clear, and if no one gives a shit to queue for it anymore, that it can be done solo. Coordinating big groups isn’t feasible these days.
I did ranked PvP in SWTOR exactly once. I remember liking the rewards received from participating, so I wanted to give it a try. The queue was long, but one day, a match actually happened.
It resulted in my team getting upset over my lack of skill, calling a truce with the other team so they can focus on me, gunning me down, and then kicking me out “for being AFK”. You can’t prove that you’re not AFK while dead, so they just spawncamped me until the kick worked.
Never again.
Looks like we’re approaching the “A Supreme Court ruling sidesteps the electoral process, disqualifying popular presidential candidates from several states” part.
Though I’m wondering if we’ll ever get to see the “Washington DC is struck by a low-yield nuclear weapon, killing Donald Trump, and most of the US Congress” part.
But does the following EU occupation mean we get universal healthcare? Hmm…

I only learned of it myself a month or so ago, from people speculating about why a kid tried to gas his school with cyanide. Turns out the FBI found references to 764 on the kid’s phone. I never heard of that before, so I looked it up, and found all sorts of nasty things that group did.
AFAIK, Kash Patel coined the term. It’s surprising, but there’s actually a case of Trump’s FBI doing what they should be doing and putting bad people away. Everyone wants these guys gone, so I figure Trump views it as no stakes publicity for actually doing something good.
Not sure why there aren’t more awareness campaigns about these groups. They are dangerous people parents would want at least some understanding about. Maybe it’s to suppress copycats?
