Its expensive bc raspberry pi has to have a single ram chip. The 16gb model is way overkill for most tasks that you should be using a pi for. If you need it you need, it’s probably for business reasons and you’re not super price sensitive.

The 1 and 2 gig boards are 45/80 dollars on canakit.

Nah, just a used one off eBay. Just now, I saw some i7 8700s w/32GB for <100$.

It will use more power, but it’s going to be a lot faster for most tasks.
