Yeah, for sure, I do know that but damn this is the most egregious of any example I’ve seen
Hopefully not being in the US would suck

This is insanely quietly un-reported on in Canada. I can’t even find a single article on the front-page even though Canadian dockworkers are a part of this

Hey, the next quarter’s profits is all that matters, eh?

I think its the opposite in that only dicks go into upper management

You might be able to ship a codebase quicker but once it hits a certain level of complexity, you’ll have a codebase that no single human being on your team really understands. You’ll now be forever tied to an ever increasing AI subscription cost

Maybe its less of a thing now? I had the same experience as the other commenter where every random cheap laptop had a touchscreen but it was back in the Windows 8 era

Interesting that we’re (Canada) included but not the US. Wonder what possible reason there could be for that

In recent years he has moved away from mainstream media, relocated to Florida and built a large online following with videos mixing wellness, conspiracy theories and discussions of his religious devotion.
Oh

where lol. Most of my friends have had roommates since moving out in like 2016
Hmm should I now install a MIDI switch in my home server rack 🤔
My interest and excitement for recomps etc has almost disappeared now
Same here but for open source projects in general :(. Its just always slop now
I genuinely don’t understand the hate SystemD gets and especially not Wayland. SystemD is fantastic for sysops and while I’ve always liked it, I’ve really started to like it since moving to podman from docker. I get the concerns for how much it handles but Linux and SystemD are still both OSS so if something happens, someone will fork it or someone will make an alternative
For Wayland, just why? I’ve used Linux for two decades and Wayland is just so much better than X11. X11 is an ancient codebase with decades of tech debt and half realised features and it shows. Trying to get monitor independent fractional scaling on X11 was just impossible
The hate for both just screams “its popular so I don’t like it” to me
I hadn’t actually realised this was a uniquely Canadian thing
