It’s tough. A big sudden stroke that wipes you out seems better than a lot of other options, if it gets you quick. None of us live forever, anyway.
I think of a relative who died from a heart attack and was dead before he hit the ground. He died doing what he loved - being pissed at his lawn mower - and probably had no idea what was happening before it was done. That doesn’t sound bad, either.
I guess my personal take is if you’re recognizing the symptoms and there are other people around, it’s likely not going to get you so neatly, in which case it’s better to get to the hospital as fast as possible.

Oh, that’s why I just saw someone posting signs for a stroke elsewhere. I thought it was just random helpful advice. I guess I’ll pass it along.
B is for Balance: Loss of balance may be a sign of stroke.
E is for Eyes: Someone having a stroke may suddenly lose vision in one or both eyes or have blurry vision.
F is for Face: Smile and see if one side of the face droops. That’s a possible sign of muscle weakness or paralysis, which often show up on just one side of the body.
A is for Arms: Raise both arms. Does one arm drop down? That’s another sign of one-sided weakness.
S is for Speech: Say a short phrase and check for slurred or strange speech. A stroke can make it hard for you to talk clearly or choose your words.
T is for Time: If the answer to any of these is yes, call 911 right away. Remember to look at the time and write down when you first saw any of these stroke warning signs.
The advice I saw on bsky was that if someone tells you they thought they were having a heart attack or stroke, but it turned out they weren’t, to tell them you’re very glad they went.

I don’t know Michigan’s resources. Have you contacted the elections ombudsman
Email: MDOS-ADAVoting@Michigan.gov
Phone: 517-335-2730
or the like generic hotline for voting help:
Call 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683)
Sorry if this is incredibly obvious information and annoying, but maybe it’s useful to someone.
I saw someone saying the other day they mailed in their ballot the 8th and there was no confirmation it had been received, and they weren’t sure what to do.
Are there people who would want to run a project like that? I think there’s no harm in giving it a shot, but I’ve never personally been interested in the work of running or moderating an archive. Anything bigger than a niche website for a specific character seems overwhelming.

I think this response to Harris is interesting.
Harris’s idea that the party can simply run these investigations, uncover damaging evidence, and then—presumably—move on to other scandals is simply not plausible. The party’s base is fed up and insistent that Democrats “do something” about Trump and his cronies, which is to say that people want to see them stopped and punished. It’s hard to imagine that investigations alone will be enough to satisfy this bloodlust, even if Democratic voters know that there is no chance of convicting and removing Trump.

I think they’re backwards and alphabetized by paragraph? The words seem related to the content of the article.

I think it depends on if he ruined his utility to them too early? And if he’s convicted, of course.

Fascinated by this site’s way of blocking non subscribers from reading. If you hit reading mode, once you get to the wall, the word are backwards and garbled. Usually the article just abruptly ends and it says the same thing the popup does.

Why?
On topic, this guy isn’t white enough to get Republicans to want to protect him.

Applegate said that while everyone in her life was relieved, her reaction to the news was that she was “not happy at all,” noting, “You don’t get misdiagnosed and then all of a sudden I’m better. I haven’t gotten better, Jamie. If anything, I’ve gotten worse in some ways. So I’m back at square one, that I don’t know what’s going on with me.”
From the USA Today article. I gather this is really common reaction for people with chronic or progressive illnesses, when they find out they don’t have the terrible thing they were misdiagnosed with. Like, everyone else is all “yay! no MS!” and the person who is still experiencing the symptoms that led to the misdiagnosis is like “ok, but I’m not suddenly healthy, and now I have to start over.” You can at least plan things when you know what you have.
Her symptoms sound really bad, too, and if there’s a treatment for what she does have, she’s not getting it.

Yeah, the last thing I remember about pillowfort is their security issues, and I hang out on Tumblr (a space it was designed as an alternative for). People weren’t recommending it anymore after that, like they used to.
I tried it out before then, but it didn’t hit for me. I’ve tried a million alternate ljs and tumblrs, so that says nothing about its quality. If you go on social media and no one wants to talk with you about what you want to talk about, it seems like a waste of time and effort.
It’s a shame when independent projects like this close down, but if not enough people stepped up to help when help was needed, burnout was inevitable, and burnout can only be ignored for so long. Better to close it down like this than in a more dramatic way.
The type of people who went on pillowfort might actually be interested in fediverse alternatives. They’ll reconnect on dreamwidth, probably, and post where they can be found. If Wafrn has what pillowfort users want and, more importantly, if their friends from there want to try it out with them, it could be a healthy boost of furries, lady fandom nerds, and lgbt+ people to the fediverse.

Ajoy gave the example of Ephesians 5:22-24: “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.”
I was always fascinated by the pride on display here, even when I was Christian. Women should submit to their husbands like they are Christ? Wow! It sure felt like a self-serving group of dudes wrote that part of the Bible.
AP called it!
