I really loved outward, good game, quest design is interesting, atmosphere and magic is weird in a good way.

restoration will take around two weeks, but could take up to a month
That’s a long time.

They could have gone with free software license from the start or the fsf approach. 🥴

Unpopular opinion: bioware didn’t make a good game since 2010. these people maybe don’t know howit works, but closing the studio was a right decision.

pilot phase with 38 ministry employees kicked off last year to trial Collabora’s suite with Office documents. However, this trial was terminated when elections took place earlier this year. A spokesperson confirmed that the experiment had concluded, and would not resume again. They also confirmed that no evaluation benchmarking Collabora’s performance against Microsoft Office had taken place either.
So it was a performance more or less, without any plan to actually switch.

Not sure about accessible group content in guild wars 2, dungeons - yes (but they are a buggy mess and not a group content), open world zergs and metas - yes, other instanced content - not really. Fractals are sort of accessible, but even on tier 1 you get some shit for not knowing all mechanics by the heart and not knowing shortcuts, etc. Raids (and former strikes) absolutely aren’t.
I’m not even sure what kind of distro cachy is, some kind of gaming optimised?
Realistically it can’t take this long if the person working on it has knowledge required, it might be just a generous estimate or they are going for full backup restoration from some kind of very slow cold storage.
