If I have to interact with the tool daily, liking the UI would be an important point for me, alongside with privacy, cost, platform support, etc.

Games@lemmy.world•On the steam forums, there are over TWO THOUSAND PAGES of community questions about "disk write error".English
42·3 days agoSo what the issue with my car?
Well it doesn’t start upNot bashing on Steam, to be clear, but this error will not help fix the issue, user actually needs to investigate one of the many reasons this could be.
A meaningful error may be: write failed because files are locked by process xy.

11·3 days agoI have been hearing of this for a few years now, nothing specific recently that I can share, but I have enjoyed watching China Found Something Better Than Oil, which is the same topic but about neodymium magnets.

4·4 days agoI see, yes my understanding is that the process can be a lot cleaner and other countries do it (like the US), China just chooses to take cheap shortcuts to take stranglehold of the market, which they now have.

5·4 days agoI wasn’t arguing that. The way China mines and processes lithium for battery manufacture, in which they’re the leading exporter by far due to their rich rare earth deposits, is destroying the surrounding areas.

I would hope not supporting suffering and destruction doesn’t need to be explicitly stated to be understood.

106·4 days agoI don’t know if I agree. A dictatorship decides to make more batteries and so the industry bends. Land is taken by the state to build mines. Little regard for the people or the environment.
All of this makes it easier for China to just move to electric, and part of why the EVs they export are so cheap.
They subsidise by environmental impact and possibly human suffering.* Not to mention they own the battery market.

571·5 days agoLook I’ll be honest, a CEO telling his workers their (valid) opinions are bullshit and looser thinking is absolutely unacceptable, even putting the context of security (or lack thereof) aside. If you refuse to listen to your engineers as a leadership, you have failed miserably.

0·2 months agoWe can’t really produce enough heat through industry to affect the earth globally, if that’s what you meant. It’s insignificant in comparison to what the Sun provides.
However there is undeniably localised issues caused by these insane structures.

Honestly sounds like my average day before LLMs too
