Absolutely this. If you consider yourself an ally, your reaction should not be to shame marginalized people for being scared and frustrated. Your reaction should be to call this fucker’s campaign office every day to tell him you want to support him, but he’s dead wrong on this issue. That is what an ally actually does.

You can still vote for him, but voting for him without telling him he’s wrong on this is the same as telling him he’s right.

Adult shop isn’t always a better option. My local Target has a better selection and better prices than the two adult stores in my city.

Voting is not enough. Voting for transphobes puts transphobes in power. Call his campaign office and tell him you disagree with his stance. Go to a townhall event and call him to the carpet in front of everyone. Tell him he needs to earn your vote, and his behavior isn’t fucking cutting it.

You can vote for him anyway, but he doesn’t need to know that. He needs to be told out loud that he’s doing the wrong thing, often and by many people.
