People are abducted, thrown on an island, and forced to kill or be killed? What else can be the premise?
I actually loved that movie
Sequel sucked though.
iirc the game was for prize money, not just survival. The contestants went into it voluntarily. I would imagine for a show, they’d give some characters sad backstories about having no other options or such, which is arguably about as unethical, really.
It feels like Battle Royale already exists. Some real copy of a copy of a copy + brand energy.
And Squid Game, the Lottery, the Hunger Games, the Running Man… nothing new under the sun.
That isn’t the premise for Battle Royale. (Most of?) the kids didn’t want to be there
Does anyone else miss when new movies consisted of shit that didn’t already exist?
Considering the first movie adaptation of a book was 1896 and the oldest person alive was born 1909…no.
Translation: Does anyone else miss being young enough not to recognise all the older films that new releases were recycling?
It’d be really funny if they got most of the way through filming and then suddenly had to strip most elements of the game from the show.
As if they’d wait that long.
