iirc the game was for prize money, not just survival. The contestants went into it voluntarily. I would imagine for a show, they’d give some characters sad backstories about having no other options or such, which is arguably about as unethical, really.
People are abducted, thrown on an island, and forced to kill or be killed? What else can be the premise?

It feels like Battle Royale already exists. Some real copy of a copy of a copy + brand energy.
And Squid Game, the Lottery, the Hunger Games, the Running Man… nothing new under the sun.
That isn’t the premise for Battle Royale. (Most of?) the kids didn’t want to be there
