Russians don’t lie to deceive you, they lie to insult you.
This is about showing contempt for western institutions.
Those silly Russians, always with those zingers! But in seriousness, this seems to be nothing more than theater for the locals. If Russia pursues this claim with any seriousness internationally, they’ll get dunked on. Maybe they’ll have the ear of diaper donny, but he can’t hold a thought for more than 20 minutes.
The country who intentionally wiped out a theatre full of children with the word “CHILDREN” written out in big letters on the lawn so they’d know not to target innocent fucking children - THAT country is going to “open a terrorism case” over a goddamned oil refinery?

The idea is that Russians paying more for fuel is actually worse than Ukrainian children dying.
The goal isn’t to make you think Russia’s a victim, the goal is to let you know Ukrainians are subhuman in their eyes.
This is profoundly ridiculous. By this logic, Ukraine can open a terrorism case over every death, injury, kidnapping, and each bit of property damage/destruction that has resulted from Putin’s war of choice.
