CleanYourTV is an open-source project that helps clean up Android TV and Google TV devices. It disables unwanted preinstalled apps, manufacturer tracking and sponsored content, then replaces the stock home screen with a lightweight custom launcher.
No root required. Works over Wi-Fi using ADB, with backup and restore scripts.

“copy prompt to your coding assistant” Don’t have one, never will. Any way to simply run shell/cmd script?
Ya what a fucking bullshit way to do it. Using an AI prompt for a one off repeatable script? Yes. Let’s use AI which uses immense resources and is killing hardware market and environment instead.
Using a non deterministic black box when a deterministic bash script can do the same, faster, and cheaper.
Also this. What if claud decides to do something a little different for user A VS user B?
Script is the way to go

There is a do it by hand section in the repo https://github.com/Gathin23/cleanyourtv#doing-it-by-hand
Do it to Roku too!
Seems like it would be good to avoid android in this context. But, you know, that’s impossible.

My last dumb tv was hard to find and didn’t gave HDMI arc so I couldn’t use my sound bar. Didn’t have optical either. And the display itself was kinda weak.

Link me to an in-stock store product listing for a new dumb TV over 40". Doesn’t have to be 4K or OLED or anything; literally any will do. But it does have to be actually possible to purchase and receive the TV listed.
I bet you can’t do it.

You can find “commercial” TVs which usually don’t have smart capabilities but they are still expensive.
FAIL.
First of all, that’s not a TV. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t even have speakers, let alone an ATSC tuner.
Second, it runs motherfucking Tizen and has Ethernet and Wi-Fi! It may not have the consumer streaming apps, but it is actually a smart device anyway.
