It’s worse than the first in every way.
I love that Grinch Night seems to be a weather event rather than a specific day
I’m so glad someone else knows about this and also hates it haha. I went on a tinder date once, and in the texting stage the guy told me Grinch night was his favorite movie. I saw how short it was and tried to watch it before meeting him so we had something to talk about.
Horrible, I couldn’t finish it. He was also a boring film nerd so that may have had something to do with it. I wanted to roast him so hard for that trash ass pick of a favorite movie.
Wow don’t hate on it. It’s different but not bad. It’s meant to be creepy as fuck. Inmean Suess was more than a childrens author. Look up his earlier works that were by no means meant for kids
The animation is worse, the voices are worse, the songs and music are worse and the story is worse. It may have some nostalgia value for certain people, but How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a classic for a reason, and this is almost completely forgotten.
I skimmed a bit of it and ya it’s pretty blatant how hard they’re trying to rinse and repeat the success of the christmas movie.
Is it at least so-bad-it’s-good enough to watch with friends on Halloween like the Star Wars Holiday Special on
ChristmasLife Day?No. It’s not even really bad, it’s just exceedingly mediocre, especially as compared to the first.
For me it’s when I’m seeing them blatantly reusing old animations. Like I get that it’s a standard practice for hand animated stuff. But disney you literally have show things side by side to ruin it.
Major Force Awakens vibes.
Agreed.
I watched it for the first time a few years ago in hopes that it would have Halloween music of a similar quality to Christmas. It was a let down.
I’ll be damned… I never heard of this and I was 9 when it was aired. I remember The Hobbit and of course Star Wars was the event of the year, and I watched holiday specials religiously back then. I don’t know how I missed it!
I liked it when I saw it as a kid in the 80s. I never saw it as trying to be any kind of competitor to the Christmas one, just as a side story with the Grinch.
It’s definitely not BAFTA material but it’s fun, my kid liked it
Blasphemy! How dare you insult The Grinch!
