After Democrats’ historic victory, why is this how Hakeem Jeffries is responding?
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries isn’t interested in seeking impeachment charges against President Donald Trump.
Speaking on MS NOW’s Morning Joe Wednesday, Jeffries laid out his priorities for his party’s newfound leadership in the House of Representatives.
“The American people don’t want us to get even. They want us to get things done on their behalf because life is way too expensive,” Jeffries said.

Accountability, motherfucker! Accountability means hearings, investigations, and prosecutions.
Do popular, affordability-focused legislation as well, but accountability is part of what America told you to get on yesterday.

He’s unfortunately liked in his district, so DSA opted to focus on other seats, which they were mostly successful with.

I don’t think Jeffries needs to be impeached. I think the Democratic Party to act like their name suggests and ask the voters. They are allowed to choose their own leaders any way they want, right? So instead of having a closed meeting secret vote to keep the same guy as last time, hold a non-binding referendum and mail special ballots out to every registered Democrat. Everyone can rank their top 10 and bottom 10 choices for the next Speaker of the House. They don’t have to commit to going with the popular winner but they do have to publish the results, and it would look bad on the leadership if they don’t pick someone in the overall top 3.
Introduce democracy into the Democratic Party? Crazy talk.

Half of Congress would probably be perfectly happy caucusing with the other team. They don’t care and tout whatever party line gets them paid. AIPAC and MORON-PAC (i.e. MAGA pocketbooks) have been very lucrative partnerships for them.
All I’m saying is it’s probably all a dog and pony show for Jeffreys. He probably has no interest or stomach for a protracted fight when they can just coast and give some lip service.

Republicans make everything worse, and democrats are the lesser evil people vote for to feel like they’re making a change but all democrats do is hold the fort and make a couple of minor tweaks here and there to show they care. 2 party systems are so easy to game.
