i heard on the subs, that when they were forcing the login popup a few months ago, people were lurking so they dont get banned on thier only account.
i dont think they even relaxed thier filters that much, they arnt willing to give up thier ai moderation, or sensitive filters but still want user generated content. they should choose one. now google/open ai, seeing they are scraping thier AI generated data.
2 ugly side bars with distracting, and the infinite scrolling , plus the amount of space leftover on the sides. also it tends to lag the more you scroll. with old reddit it doesnt have any of that. the new also forces a popup to login eventually.
same, they only started appearing on reddit after musk/trump was "deciding to " limit h1b visa last year it was getting more attention than it should. reddit is likely going to be an “indian only reddit” mostly because they have the sheer number of people using it, more than most other countries combined.

the bannings by reddits own filteriing/AI is causing people to lurk, old reddit makes the site legible. the new UI, even if you use extension to remove some of the features is still horrible to use.
