On season 4 of Deep Space Nine. Such a great series.
I just started watching Curb your Enthusiasm. Idk what to think yet, I want to like it but not really enjoying
That was my same experience with it.
Finally started The Rehearsal. First episode feels like Nathan for You ++. After that, shit gets nuts.
Thunder in My Heart (2021) - Just finished season 2, it made me go ‘wow, the writers didn’t know what made season 1 good’ Such a shame!
Unclaimed (2021) aka The Invisibles aka Les Invisibles - just watched a few episodes of season 1, I really like except for the really questionable romantic relationshipI’m re-re-re-watching Babylon 5 in honour of Walter Koenig who recently passed away.
picard also passed away from alzheimers and lew body dementia, tng too. not picard though, that show wasnt good at all.
Sad times. I disagree though, B5 is really good, you don’t have to agree, you’re not required to like the things I do…for now anyway…
Finished Haunted Hotel S2. Shame it had to come out in this era, it’s a pretty fun show but eight episodes is somewhere between a third and a half of a season. Maybe one day shows will be given the time to breathe again, this show especially has been popular with everyone I know. Even the grumpier ones that don’t generally like this type of show.
Finally started Legion after so many people recommended it to me. So far (a little into season 2), I have a love/hate relationship with it. I’m definitely not the target audience. But it does have it’s moments, and a few of the characters intrigue me. I don’t know what the ending is like, as I’ve never seen it, but based off of the comics, I keep expecting to find out everything we’ve seen is literally just people in David’s head, but we’ll see. That would be a little predictable. Also, this has been the best version of the Shadow King so far (I don’t care for him in the comics).
Almost done with Dollhouse. My opinion hasn’t changed from my original watch all that much, it’s still a great show imo. The creepiness of the early episodes, and the Whedon self-insert dialogue bragging about having enough power to treat women however he wanted aside. Not looking forward to the final episode, though. Never cared for how it ended.
Currently watching the same as last week since my time has been limited. Visionquest when new episodes drop, Avatar Seven Havens when new episodes drop, and Star Trek TNG when I’m out of new episodes of the other 2. Avatar and TNG are great. Visionquest is okay.
I recommend Slow Horses. I haven’t watched it all straight through yet but what I have watched has been fantastic. I also recommend Night Manager season 1. Olivia Colman, Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, and great supporting actors make for such a fun English spy show. Following that, Broadchurch with Olivia Colman and David Tennant is enjoyable as well.
Slow Horses is fantastic. I go put on it after season 4 was out, so I binged four seasons, then 5 when it came out, and now 6. I might go look up the books, but the series is really fun.
6 is out? Crap I have to check my fin.
I’m bad about keeping up with downloads, I only have through ep 5, but I do believe the entireity is technically released. :)
Sonarr automatically gets it for me but I don’t pay any attention. Blegh. I love slow horses!
Same, I just haven’t set up my notifications so I have to remember to go check for new stuff. hehe
Also VQ and Avatar. Didn’t have high expectations of either but cautiously optimistic for Avatar. Slow horses never fails to meet the high standards they set with their first season.
I’m also enjoying Cupertino but I like everything the Kings put out.
Small Prophets made me watch The Detectorists. Man, what a blast. Barely anything of significance happens, the stakes are low, yet you understand why things are big deal for the characters and you root for them as if it was a football match where your team is playing. It’s kind of like a Ghibli film in a way there’s no real villains, which is always interesting as a way to create stories.
10/10
Been in a satire mood. Just rewatching Chris Morris stuff lately
East of Eden is excellent. Pugh will probably win an Emmy, and deservedly so, but if Hoon Lee doesn’t win one too I’m going to leave a trail of destruction from Massachusetts to California.
It really is a great show. I think we watched episode 3 over the weekend.
The most interesting thing this week was the first ep of Phony. I don’t really know where that one is going, and I am interested to find out.
Also enjoying Carrie. A couple of episodes in and am linking how well they have you empathising with so many of the characters at times.
Below
Baba Yaga
Below was OK. It’s fine if you don’t have anything else.
Baba Yaga has some annoying and unbelivable characters, but it’s too soon to judge. Only few episodes seen. It still had potential.
