    With all the myriad problems I’ve had with linux, audio was never one of them. Hell, my android is worse with audio. Looking at this thread, I’m apparently very lucky

    At a LUG, helping a new Linux enthusiast solve their ALSA IRQ issues in '98, did indeed make me feel Hey-ya!

    * It was lucky I had chewed through the exact same issue, 3 weeks before. Must have looked like a space wizard.

    I told claude i have a weird crackle sometimes. It identified some subsystem keeping s connection open, forcing small packets.

    Fixed in a minute. Never anymore issues with that.

    Is Claude a true linuxer?

      Yesterday I gave claude remote access to my Chinese android car stereo. It was opening apps, taking screenshots, backing things up and decompiling them to check for malware. Now I’m going to remove everything unneeded like media apps and Google Play services to make the system faster.

      I’ve had a few “holy shit” moments with AI over the past month or so that I haven’t had since late 2022/early 2023. Crazy times, we are in for a ride…

        As long as you don’t bootloop or brick your device by removing something crucial. Some people have managed that with their Android TVs.

      I’m getting old and soon I’m gonna get scammed by AI.

      I’m in my mid 40s and this terrifies me, honestly. I’ve seen a lot of images people point out are AI and don’t notice it until later. Some are super obvious, but others I might never notice (and doubly so if I don’t stop to actually examine all the details of every image I see and who has time for that?)

        You know what’s worse? After finding out that image was AI, I then found out a content creator I enjoyed was AI and stealing work from an Italian artist.

        Unc really is about to get scammed, gamers.

        I saw this Ai image meme previously. And it didn’t catch my interest. It just didn’t click. The text was there, the he-man. But the sound wasnt playing in my head. It was dead silent. Now I see this new take with a capture from the heyaheya he-man youtube parody with a real guy I saw some years ago and the sound came. I had the music in my head, and some images flashback. Ai don’t have feeling. They’re just bland, like an ice-cream without the cream. Just ice.

    I once spent a month trying to compile a kernel and sound driver for a SoundBlaster Gold card in Mandrake 6. I still have flashbacks to that time.

    Now if you can just make all the apps work reliably and get the screen stop flickering, I’ll use Linux again!

    Note that you will be blacklisted by nvidia because using nvidia gpus outside of data centers is forbidden

    I couldnt. Sound on my laptop is crackling, and sometimes just mutes if its on hdmi output, but no problem with the internal speakers
