I have been on Continuwuity since Conduwuit was dropped!
No issue, fast, very lean on resources… Never missed fucking Synapse once!

Whats the issue with synapse?
Continuwuity Is a single binary that runs with very minimal memory and literally zero CPU footprint, and basically minimal setup, where Synapse on the same hardware was a mess to setup hard to configure, and was noticeable both on CPU and RAM usage.
Maybe for many users synapse scale better, i have no idea, but for a single user or few users instance, no way.
Good to know! Can they keep up with synapse in regard of matrix protocol standard? What about some experimental features that we can easily activate in synapse?

MAS or element calls using livekit for example?
From the talk: It doesn’t need MAS as that’s built in, and calls work.
I have no idea what mas is, and I never did element calls. You should try it or check online.
Is this the commercial implementation that the matrix Foundation or so was building for business? Or will this be open source and libre software?
The commercial implementation is also open source, but there is a a proprietary version aimed at large enterprise customers that adds better optimization for very large deployments, and better auditing and moderation tools.

Yup, totally different, continuwuity and synapse are the main two, and although there are others, they’re just less good.
This is not developed by the foundation or Element.
It already is FOSS
