This got removed from politics because “Video links are not allowed” apparently? Pretty weird considering that most politicians say stuff on video nowadays and not really writing articles anymore since the invention of the radio pretty much lol. Hope it’s a better fit here, this is the kind of stuff people should be aware of.

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet.

Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well.

It’s Iowa, he’s not going to win anyway.

He’s an idiot who can’t read the room, and shouldn’t be running as a democrat and should lose all his endorsements for this.

But he didn’t have a chance in hell of winning anyway, and this reeks of a spoiler campaign like a fetterman or a manchin

Last I checked he had a very slight lead in the polls. Within the margin though. Curious to see if this blatantly anti human rights stance he’s suddenly taken will sink the campaign.

All other things aside, he definitely has a chance to win. Perhaps not likely, but 40% chance is close to a toss up.

You know how people complain that Republican voters just see the “R” next to the name and just vote for it? How they don’t actually listen to what politicians are saying and that’s why their representatives are garbage?

You’re allowed to demand better from your politicians instead of demanding blind obedience from fellow voters.

I honestly don’t care at this point. As long as people vote against the fascist. Everything else can be sorted out later.

I agree that when it comes time to vote 90% fascist is better than 100% fascist, but that doesn’t mean being 90% fascist gets a free pass to “sort it out later” just because they’re sightly better than 100% fascist.

Pushing back on their bullshit now gives them a chance to demonstrate their ability to listen to their constituents and apologize for it, which also gives them a chance to regain the votes they are losing from people who won’t tolerate it.

Cool. So you’re willing to let people suffer so you can teach politicians a lesson? Hint: they don’t care.

THAT’S WHY WE NEED TO VOTE THEM OUT.

Voting is standing up for them. Not voting is surrendering their fate to the decisions of others.

Voting for stripping people of their rights is standing up for those people and their rights.

What kind of 1984 bullshit is this? You should be embarrassed to have thought this, let alone typed it.

Enjoy two more years of what you voted for asshat.

I voted straight ticket democrat already. All the way down. Even voted for unopposed democrats. On the first day the polls were open. Waited an hour and 15 minutes to do it. Insane turnout for where I live. Especially for a midterm.

You don’t care because I’m critical of the genocide wing.

            knowing I e not

Someone’s taking their anger out on their keyboard.

            Blocked.

And the amount of listening you’re doing remains unchanged.

Too late to have a different candidate. Pretty sure Repubs would prefer he loses regardless of how often he might align with their vote considering if the majority swings Dem, then they can set the agenda.
