I think it would be interesting to hear about what your personal experiences are, to help contextualize what you’re talking about.

I think it would be interesting to hear about what your personal experiences are, to help contextualize what you’re talking about.

This is kind of a jumbled mess of an argument, which is what I expect from a futurist. Two of the four items are traits of autism, the last is a personal problem, and only the first references the physical world (brittleness).
I think the answer to especially the last one, the confusion you’re feeling, is understanding late-stage capitalism, but it’s just another enactment of the Grand Theory of Social Enshittification, where power acceleratingly accumulates to fewer and fewer people until eventually the needs of society are sacrificed to the benefit that few. Ultimately, society collapses, either through economic stagnation or violent revolution, or both.
But maybe you meant something different

Couldn’t come at a better time. Enshittification has hit the software industry hard. The argument for captialism is that it makes the best product at the lowest price. However the recent reality is that capitalism makes the worst product for the highest price.
Burn it all down.

What? The literal extermination of the human race is not enough to scare off investors.

Yes, Microsoft Office is purposely designed to confound interoperability. Embrace, extend, exterminate.

The first phase was successfully completed. Collabora Office was integrated with F2, demonstrating that individual users could freely switch between Collabora Office and Microsoft Office when editing documents, while maintaining their documents within the same government platform and using Microsoft-compatible document formats.
This could be weasily phrased. I recall a comment mentioning sticking point was documents in Microsoft-specific formats. Obviously open formats would work in Office.

Are you responding to something that got edited out? Who mentioned OSs?

Also ask for free airfare and set up a franchise of Fight Clubs across the nation.

Here’s Lemmy’s reply from yesterday triggered by the same concern:

Gmail was actually the easiest one to separate from, if you just count the transferring email addresses. It is a pain in the ass because so many services fight like hell to hold onto your google account you sometimes have to jump through hoops to remove it–a security risk in itself.
The big sticking point for me so far is photos… there are other options, but itś all integrated into my phone in weird ways I don’t want to bother with right now.

Just to introduce another factor: transitioning between hot and cold introduces wear that might be worse that running warm-to-hot constantly.

Reminds me of that scene in Almost Famous where the Rolling Stone editor chews out the reporter because the band denied the stories of drunken debauchery and the naive conclusion was that it MUST have been fabricated.

I’m still holding ono my Smurf collection! Some day they will be valuable!

So, before you run your mouth any more, you should know that lemmy is a pretty small population and proudly obnoxious people may not be banned, but they sure as hell can be put on a lot of people’s personal blocklists.

My uneducated and impoverished thought is cash will buy you real estate which is about to get really cheap, whereas any stock you buy today is going to have a severe crash very soon.
But most of my investments are in beans: i’ve got jars or black, red, garbanzos, kidney, and navy beans; also a variety of lentils.

Bonds? Just not US bonds. Trump says he can take care of US debt with inflation, no problem.

There’s more than a few Christianist corpos out there willing to go to court to bring about their theocracy–Hobby Lobby and Chick-fil-a being two commonly cited examples.

Might want to include the estate of Maurice Sendak while you’re at it.

Yeah, that guy on the right is barely keeping it together; can barely get through a 3-second meme.
🤣😂🥲🙂😐😔🥺😭
