That might be true but only if there is fewer humans at some point.
You can’t just keep widening roads. There are 50 percent more humans in my city then 25 years ago. If you reduce traffic more people will buy cars.
So at some point something has to give.
The Internet isn’t static or ‘forever’ like people like to joke. AI companies are slurping up data and they need somewhere to keep it. Hard drives are already increasing in price and they still need to store long term things like all the books they are destroying.
LLMs that are wide spread and accessable to the general public is basically 3 years.
No one in the general public who uses chatgpt or googles AI overview gives a shit when Google published attention is all you need.
The argument would be that they provide " higher quality, more targeted views" which is probably correct.
Most people will fold and get the account, what’s one more " sign in with Google" on top of the 1000 other accounts.
I mean sure. It’s still early days for AI models. They spent years boiling the frog that is the search user. They can take a hit for a while before Gemini starts taking money to talk or more importantly not talk about something.
Toss sugar in the concrete during construction. Much simpler.
Data centers also need Air Conditioning. I hear AC units don’t like Cocktails.
They’re only surveillance chips when someone other than the US uses them against allies and enemies alike. Apparently.
Certainly if you’re smart you’ll consider them all dangerous. I grew up in a household with a cop as a father, I am quite aware of how even the “good ones” are abhorrent.
I mean, the cops here aren’t nearly as corrupt as the law in the USA, by design, so, I don’t worry at all about that.
Then you sit in a place of privilege (as do I). The Indigenous communities certainly wouldn’t likely feel the same, I imagine many people of colour as well. Are they as openly dangerous? Not openly no, but they still kill quite a few people, took many Indigenous people into the middle of no where in the winter and dropped them off to die, are generally very violent when it comes to protesters that aren’t right wing etc.
Our cops are complete and utter shit. American’s are just worse that’s all.
You say this like episodes in 10 episode seasons never miss and there are plenty that have shit writing.
There are only six episodes in game of thrones final season
