Nothing is thwarted until they lose the election.

Vote. Vote in numbers too big to be manipulated.

It’s not even over then! Why wouldn’t they try a congressional j6 there were no consequences last time

J6 was centered around the notion that they had a “chance” to change or stop the certification of electoral votes for the US president. Afaik, no such process exists for US senators or reps. Their certification is by the state that elects them.

All that said, they are likely to try something, it will just look different and require different expectations to thwart.

Which means bad faith governors and MAGA statehouses may defy an election in which a Democrat unseats a MAGA. Do you think Florida’s radically MAGA Statehouse is going to be happy about certifying a Democratic Governor or Senator? How about Texas? How about Kansas?

We aren’t out of the woods just because we’re at a state level. The state MAGAs may be more virulently dishonest than the Feds (other than Trump, he’s the clear champion of corruption).

Probably why I said what I did at the end then, huh? If the problem is going to be multiple states rejecting certification, then expecting “another J6” isn’t going to help.

That’s a good start, but this is a multifaceted threat to democracy. I don’t see how they could expect disenfranchising 20,000 people would affect California elections, BUT

      • are they targetting swing districts, specific congresspeople?
      • terrorizing/suppressing many more voters?
      • terrorizing official trying to run legitimate elections?
      • distractions, always distractions. Are we missing more serious threats to elections in swing states?
      • most importantly creating excuses they will use to try to invalidate californias elections?

Unfortunately I don’t think any numbers are enough. Vought has already published their plan to prevent “unfit” candidates from taking the oath on 1/3/27. They’ve laid the groundwork for DSA members and Muslims to be deemed “unfit” which could be as many as 13 seats that will sit vacant until the courts sort it out (years). UNFTR has a good video about it, this segment starts about 8 min in.

    This article title illicits complacency.

They aren’t going to give up that easily. Vote. And keep your eyes and ears peeled. And when they try again, protest, get rowdy, and don’t stop.

    A Play in Three Acts

But the pre-election phase is only Act I of this three-act play.

Act II is Election Day itself, where all manner of mischief is possible in an intense 24 hours. The spread of early voting has helped to reduce the overall potential impact of Election Day sabotage, but there are still risks — and importantly, what happens on Election Day can set the stage for Act III.

Act III is everything that happens post-election, from tallying the votes to challenging ballots already cast to recounts and certifications and ultimately election contests. It’s where close elections can be won or lost.

MAGA has had multiple plans for Before, During, and After the election, but unlike the feckless Biden administration, the 2026 Dems have anticipated that, and drawn up over 100 election interference scenarios, and planned strategies to defeat each one.

So far it is working, but we have a long ways to go. They will try to do stuff to suppress the vote on election day, but they won’t work. A judge just told the DoJ to stop warning that he’s sending out armed agencies to “watch the polls,” an obvious threat.

Of course the real fun will come AFTER the election, when they start denying EVERYTHING, suing everybody with ridiculous claims, accusing, screaming, etc., but they will eventually lose anyway, and the Dems will take over Congress.

Then MAGA is going to get really squirrelly, since they absolutely cannot allow a 2028 election, or they will go to prison for the rest of their lives (or worse, in some cases). That means violence, and lots of it. Protesters, dissidents, immigrants, Dems, etc. He’ll probably send troops to Iran, and start a draft. That will cause all sorts of protests that will get ugly, giving him the rationalization to end elections.

They want full, dictatorial control of America, and they think their path to it will be inciting violence. That’s a dangerous poison to release from the bottle, as it can go against MAGA as easily as their enemies. That’s the problem with MAGA, they never understand that their weapons are double bladed, and they are just as susceptible.

We will have a rough, violent time ahead of us for the next two years, but we will prevail. One thing that we can always count on with MAGA is their amazing Virtuosic Incompetence. It always beats them on the end, and it will beat them this time, too.

This article talks about “pre-election interference attempts,” but doesn’t say much about “during-election” or “post-election” attempts. Thwarting bullshit lawsuits is all well and good, but the author doesn’t even contemplate the real possibility of fascist paramilitary boots on the ground physically stopping the process.

If we don’t make this too big to rig it won’t matter and we have to overcome Musk’s cheating.
