Well, when ding-a-ling donnie is talking about it, I’m sure he has zero idea that AI is an umbrella term for several things contained within, such as ML, LLMs, generative AI, neural nets, deep learning, genetic algorithms, expert systems, etc.
It’s definitely not clear which branch he’s even talking about renaming, or if he’s talking about renaming the entire field, or if he’s claiming that the stuff talked about as “AI” now is the same as the ASI hypothesized about.
There have been tons of hot-takes from idiots and charlatans and self-styled expert influencers, spiking upwards ever since AI started to enter normie consciousness c. 2022, and much of it has been of very low quality as one might expect on a gold rush like this, but donnie is someone absolutely no one should listen to when it comes to discussing any of this.
