No need. The US has banned Russian fuel so it won’t be importing it. Trump can say whatever, Congress hasn’t reverted the sanctions. Who wants to risk a multi billion dollar company on “But Trump said it’s ok” when everyone involved in oil is already making record profits lol

If you’re monitoring the situation, I would love an update about what ultimately happens with this shipment. If it can’t be imported it’s weird and I’m curious what happens next, but if it does get imported anyway then what? Another nail in the coffin of rule of law I guess.

They are hoping they do. This is all a troll to say “look the Ukraine is hurting Russia oil and since Russia is supplying us the Ukraine is now the aggressor and our enemy.”

      It is pretty fucking obvious.

Hopefully just captured. It would be an ecological disaster if they were attacked or sunk.

I couldn’t read the article due to a “Become a Patron” popup tgat wouldn’t go away. I was trying to figure how much oil it was and then comparing it to how much diesel the US uses on a daily basis.

My understanding is that any amount that could be shipped from what Russia isn’t keeping for domestic use won’t be enough to budge the price at the pumps in the USA in the immediate future.

It’s more of a political move to get votes.

Absolutely no expert knowledge on my end, just what I’ve been seeing and reading.

I saw 1 article claim that the Russian diesel is actually Iranian. I could be bamboozled. But it would be great if journalists asked for verification where this diesel is coming from.

That’s absolutely true. The amount they talked about was like 16 hours supply I believe.

Also it’s illegal to import into the US and Trump can’t change it by EO. It’s still sanctioned by Congress.
